Retro-Bit has just opened pre-orders on an official re-release of the 1989 vertical shooter called Undeadline. This game was only previously released in Japan and this is the first time it will be available for a worldwide release. The price is about $60, which is far cheaper than what originals sell for. Pre-orders will remain open until August 10th and they’re due to arrive to customers before the end of the year. More info after the links:

Some notes. First, the game is multi-regional and will run at 60Hz with NTSC consoles and 50Hz with PAL consoles. Also, this is all 100% original (and insanely hard ;p) gameplay – The only differences between the original release and this are updated licensing and a full English translation worked on by localization engineer Nathan Deren and translated by Jonathan Antonioli.
I think it’s great Retro-Bit is calling out the translators by name, as it really highlights all the awesome work community members provide. I also like that Retro-Bit is continuing to focus on re-releasing games that are expensive and hard to come by. Not only does it not feel like a “cash grab”, Retro-bit’s PCB’s have been designed by René of db Electronics and have been really high quality. That means fans of physical media can buy this knowing they’re getting a good product that’s safe to use, region-free and much cheaper than used original copies.
