Interview with Randy Linden

I recently did an interview with Randy Linden.  While most of us are probably familiar with his work, it was awesome getting the true history of Bleem and the really cool story of how the original SNES Doom port came to light.  We talked about quite a few other things and towards the end focused on his current re-port of Doom to the SNES, as well as the new FX3 and Rumble support that are being open-sourced for the community to use as well.  To listen, either check out the video above, or search any app for “RetroRGB Randy”.  More info below the links:

I mean, what can I say, other than I got to interview Randy friggin Linden!!!  Being able to talk with him about his accomplishments and especially going up against Sony in the 90’s was such a cool experience and he was an absolute pleasure to talk to.  Also, I really love how he’s already working with the community to implement the awesome rumble support into homebrew!  I think if you’re a retro gaming fan, you’ll enjoy this interview as much as I did!

Also, if you’d like to see the new version in action, I did a livestream testing it out.  I compared it to the original a few times and even showed an example of the open source rumble code at the end.  Warning:  I’m terrible at Doom.  If you watch the stream, do so for the gameplay examples, NOT to see the right way to play it ;p
