Today, Mega Cat Studios, the indie game studio known for its dedication to retro gaming, has announced the digital and physical release of “Excidium Event” for Super Nintendo!
This new game is a re-imagining of the classic arcade title “Space Zap” and the Astrocade title “Space Fortress,” and I had the pleasure of getting to play it over the last few months while it was in development!
Players control a stationary space base, fending off waves of alien attackers and other hazards from all directions.
“Excidium Event” is the result of a unique collaboration between Mega Cat Studios and the passionate community on the r/retrogaming subreddit. The game combines the best elements of its predecessors, offering a nostalgic yet fresh experience for both new players and long-time fans of the genre.
What makes this release even more special is that Mega Cat Studios is donating all profits from “Excidium Event” to the Child’s Play Charity!
