Rodrigo Copetti has just released the second physical book in his Architecture of Consoles series, this time focusing on “The Sprite Decade”. While the first book was about the Xbox 360 & PlayStation 3, this one is about the NES, SMS, TG-16, Genesis, SNES and Neo Geo. All of Rodrigo’s work is available for free on his website, or in cheaper eBook versions, however Paperback editions like this allow for high quality pictures and an easy reference to keep around. The price came to just over $30 and I’m really happy I bought this one:

Here’s a quick picture of what the book I received looks like (click for full-sized). Honestly, this could be a college class textbook, a “coffee table book”, or just a great reference for people who prefer physical books. Having such detailed information about six iconic consoles in one book is something every retro dev might want to consider buying. Heck, I think Chris from Displaced Gamers might buy two 🙂
